Movie: Robots

Dominic and I went to see this animated feature starring the voices of Ewan McGregor as Rodney Copperbottem and Robin Williams as Fender. We enjoyed our time together, but the movie was not as good as others we have recently seen. Personally, I enjoyed Shark Tale, Shrek 2 and The Incredibles better than Robots. On the other hand, I enjoyed Robots better than Piglet's Huffalump movie or SpongeBob SquarePants. Like all movies, it depends on what kind of mood I am in whether or not I enjoy a kid's movie. The nice thing about several of the above noted movies is that they are not strictly for kids. Creative writers have produced films that appeal to kids and adults on different levels. This was especially true of The Incredibles, but I also enjoyed the adult references sprinkled throughout Shrek 2 and Shark Tale.

There were some scenes in Robots where Dominic was almost on the floor laughing. During these times, it is more fun for me to watch him than the actual movie. He especially enjoyed the scene in which Fender shows Rodney how to make fart sounds with his underarm, a talent that we have recently been working on develping ourselves. As usual, potty humor can always make Domi and I laugh alongside each other.
